Three Palestinians died Monday in the Occupied Territories and more than 31 others were injured by Israeli fire.

One Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire in Rafah, near the border with Egypt, while two died of injuries they sustained earlier during Israeli incursion into Palestinian towns in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, reported the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA.

The agency added that more than 31 Palestinians were wounded by Israeli fire during clashes with Israeli troops.

WAFA said that 11 Palestinians were injured in El Beireh town near Ramallah when Israeli soldiers opened fire on residential areas.

In Ramallah, ten Palestinians were wounded during clashes with Israeli troops near an Israeli checkpoint in Sarda town.

According to Haaretz newspaper, an Israeli soldier was wounded in what an Israeli military spokesman called exchanges of fire with Palestinian gunmen near the Ofer army camp southwest of the West Bank city of Ramallah.

The soldier, from the elite Dukefat infantry battalion, was hit in the chest, and evacuated to Hadassah Ein Carem Hospital in Jerusalem, said the paper.

In Salfit near the West Bank town of Nablus, WAFA said that a Palestinian man was shot in the stomach by Israeli soldiers during fierce clashes with the occupation troops, while a policeman was seriously injured when Israeli soldiers opened fire at a Palestinian national security post in Betounia near Ramallah.

In Jenin, a Palestinian child was injured by Israeli tank shells targeting the village of Mothallath Al Shohadaa, said the agency, adding that several Palestinian houses were destroyed in the attack.

In Gaza Strip, the agency said that at least seven Palestinians, including children, were wounded near the Martyrs junction (known to Israelis as Netzarim).

The latest Palestinian uprising against 34 years of Israeli military occupation began in September 2000.

AFP's latest death tally comes out to 13 Arab Israelis, 617 Palestinians, and 165 Israelis, putting the ratio of casualties at around four Palestinians killed for every Israeli loss.

According to Amnesty International, Israeli soldiers have killed roughly 100 Palestinian children, nearly all in situations where the safety of the occupation forces was in no immediate danger - Albawaba.com
