ALBAWABA - Recent data indicates that Yahya Sinwar, the commander of Hamas in Gaza, may have resumed contact with movement leaders, according to an Axios story that cites an Israeli official. The official said that Sinwar communicated throughout these exchanges, although it's unclear when exactly the communications were sent.
The Israeli source pointed out that there's no sign Sinwar has softened or changed his stance on a ceasefire, even with the resumption of talks.
The evidence indicates a continuance of Sinwar's position, while the type and substance of the communications are still unknown.
Abu Ubaidah Speech
In a rare appearance after months of silence, Abu Obadiah, the military spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, addressed the public on October 6, 2024, marking the first anniversary of the "October 7 Battle of the Flood of Al-Aqsa."
His speech emphasized that the ongoing resistance against Israel is the only viable method for confronting its actions, as the enemy "only understands the language of force and weapons."
During the address, Abu Obaidah highlighted the success of the preemptive strike on Israeli forces, claiming it disrupted Israel's planned major assault on Gaza.
He outlined how this action came in response to escalations around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, settlement expansions, and the aggression against Palestinian prisoners. Abu Obadiah stressed that these provocations left the Palestinian resistance with no choice but to launch a "historic attack."
He further stated that despite the brutality of the Israeli enemy and the betrayal by neighboring regimes, Palestinians remain resilient, supported by a network of regional allies.
