ALBAWABA - Israel Hayom reported that Elisha Livman, an Israeli military commander, left Cyprus while on holiday with his wife due to concerns about possible legal action.

The event happened after video footage of Livman actively taking part in military actions in Gaza was made public by the Belgian-based Hind Rajab Foundation. As he can be heard in one of the videos, "We will not stop until Gaza is completely burned."

The allegation claims that Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Livman urgently and told him to leave Cyprus right away. Together with the Ministry of Justice, the ministry concluded that Livman might be charged with war crimes and genocide if he stayed in the nation.

According to the Hind Rajab Foundation, the complaint contained video of Livman addressing the forcible relocation of Palestinians and promoting settlement growth while pointing to homes in Gaza that had been demolished and setting fire to civilian property. The group also brought attention to Livman's social media posts while he was in Cyprus, where he allegedly called for violence against a Lebanese eatery.

The rights organization also said that it has lodged a more comprehensive complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against 1,000 Israeli soldiers who are alleged to have committed crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide in Gaza.

For more information, Al-Jazeera has contacted Israeli officials and the Hind Rajab Foundation, but has not heard back. The case demonstrates the increased worldwide criticism of Israel's military actions in Gaza as well as the growing demand for international responsibility.
