ALBAWABA - At least 21 Palestinians, including an entire family, were killed on Saturday in relentless Israeli airstrikes across Gaza. The ongoing assault, which has spanned over a year, continues to devastate lives, with thousands injured and critical infrastructure destroyed.
In central Gaza, Israeli artillery targeted a gathering in Al-Bureij refugee camp, killing three Palestinians and wounding several others, according to Al-Awda Hospital. In Gaza City’s Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, seven members of the Shaldan family, including three children, were killed when their home was struck by Israeli airstrikes. Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal confirmed the entire family perished in the attack.
In northern Gaza, two Palestinians were killed, and several others wounded in an Israeli strike near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, adding to the mounting civilian toll.
Israeli bombardments have severely impacted Kamal Adwan Hospital. According to hospital director Hossam Abu Safieh, strikes on Friday targeted emergency facilities, damaging power generators and cutting off oxygen and water supplies. Twelve medical staff members were injured in the attacks, which caused widespread panic among patients, including children and women.
“We now have 86 patients, including eight in intensive care and 13 children suffering from severe malnutrition,” said Abu Safieh, calling for urgent international intervention to deliver medical supplies and deploy surgical teams.
In Khan Younis, six Palestinians, including a child, were killed, and more than 20 injured when Israeli strikes hit a residential area near displacement camps. Additional casualties were reported from drone and gunfire attacks in Khan Younis and Rafah.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s offensive has killed or injured over 148,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and left over 10,000 missing. Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an end to hostilities and International Court of Justice orders to prevent genocide, the assault continues.
Last week, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
