ALBAWABA - On Wednesday, the Israeli military said that it had carried out more airstrikes on Hezbollah locations in Lebanon. An army spokesman said that Israeli troops are aggressively targeting southern Lebanon locations used by Hezbollah.

The official said that the latest bombing on Beirut's southern suburbs on Friday claimed the lives of at least sixteen Hezbollah militants.

Local media said that Hezbollah responded by firing a large salvo of rockets against Israel.

The number of fatalities from the Israeli attack has increased to 31, including seven women and three children, according to information released by Lebanon's Ministry of Health on Saturday. According to Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, this was the most serious Israeli attack on Beirut since the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, with 68 people injured and 15 still in the hospital.

Ibrahim Aqil was one of the dead, a prominent figure in Hezbollah who was in charge of the "Radwan Forces."

After Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel on October 7, tensions in the area have increased and Israel and Hezbollah are often engaged in gunfire.
