ALBAWABA - Three US states have started early voting in advance of the November 5 presidential election. Voters in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Virginia have already started showing up at the polls.

Voters in these three states are casting their votes ahead of time as Election Day draws near. This option has been used by thousands of voters who may not be accessible on Election Day or who want to avoid possible crowds.

In the United States, early voting is available in several states, and additional polling places will open in the next few days. Illinois on September 26; Montana and Nebraska on October 7; Indiana and Wyoming on October 8; Arizona on October 9; Georgia on October 15; and Iowa on October 16 will all begin early voting.

Although early voting is still divisive among voters, analysts believe it is essential for swaying election results. A Pew Research Center study indicates that 82% of Democrats are in favor of early voting choices, compared to only 37% of Republicans.

Early voting locations will be accessible until November 2nd, giving voters more time to cast their votes. Beginning on Friday, voters in Minnesota and South Dakota will have the option to present their absentee votes in person to election offices or other authorized sites rather of mailing them.

Experts estimate that a significant number of voters will cast votes early this election season due to the increase in early voting over the previous ten years.

MIT Election Data Science Lab data shows that in the 2020 election, more than 69% of voters choose early in-person voting or mail-in voting. With 40% of voters casting ballots early in 2016 compared to 33% in 2012, this was a notable rise from prior years.
