ALBAWABA - As tension escalates between Hezbollah and Israel, Israel announced striking what it claims to be Hezbollah infrastructure sites after the armed group downed an Israeli drone.
The Israeli army stated in a statement that fighter jets targeted a military facility and three additional Hezbollah infrastructure targets in the eastern city of Baalbek.
The Hezbollah-downed drone was identified as an Israeli-made Hermes 900 drone, which the Lebanese group downed in its latest attack. Israeli shelling killed more than 50 civilians, in addition to what the Israeli army claimed to be 270 Hezbollah fighters. In southern Lebanon, approximately 90,000 people have also been displaced.
According to a Hezbollah statement, the group struck Israeli soldiers and military vehicles at the al-Malikiyah position early Friday with a barrage of artillery shells and missiles.
According to the statement, the missiles hit the specified targets exactly and resulted in Israeli army losses. Additionally, Hezbollah troops attacked an Israeli military vehicle at the entrance to Metula, damaging it and killing the passengers.
Late Thursday, Lebanese resistance militants launched rockets and artillery shells at Israeli soldiers stationed at Ruwaisat al-Alam and Ruwaisat al-Qarn.
Earlier in the day, Hezbollah targeted a command center in Liman, while Israeli planes bombed the southern Lebanese border villages of Yaroun and Ainata. Hezbollah then targeted groups of soldiers at the Jal al-Alam position.
Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 33,137+ people, with more than 75,815+ injuries.
Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
