ALBAWABA- In an urgent decision, the Israeli government has declared a nationwide state of emergency on the home front, following the assassination of Hezbollah's third-highest-ranking commander, Ali Karaki, in Beirut.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority confirmed that the government swiftly approved the state of emergency, which will remain in effect for a week.
This escalation comes in the wake of a targeted Israeli airstrike that killed Karaki, Hezbollah's southern front commander, in the southern suburb of Beirut.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Home Front Command reported sirens sounding across the northern Golan Heights, Central Galilee, and dozens of other locations in northern Israel, indicating a high alert status.
