Foreign organizations in Iraq will have to pay up to 12,000 dollars for an annual Internet subscription, the weekly Al-Iqtissadi reported Sunday.
Foreign businesses and embassies will each pay between 3,000 and 12,000 dollars a year, and Iraqi offices and private enterprises will be charged between 2,500 and 8,000 dollars under the tariffs set by the ministry of transport and communications.
Transport and Communications Minister Ahmed Murtada announced a plan Tuesday "to allow private registered companies, universities, trade unions, large organizations and diplomatic representations in Iraq access to the Internet."
Speaking at the opening of a third Internet center for the public in Baghdad, he said similar centers would be established in the provinces – BAGHDAD (AFP)
