Four people have been killed and a further 16 were left wounded after two bombs hit areas close to the Iraqi capital on Thursday, AP reported.
According to officials, speaking to the news agency, a livestock market southeast of Baghdad and a police checkpoint close to the capital were the targets although no officers were killed.
The market bomb, in Aziziyah town, outside Baghdad, killed three people as well as some of the nearby animals, while the roadside bombing killed one bystander.
Iraq has been hit by a wave of sectarian violence in recent months following the pullout of American troops. The country's Sunni minority claim they are being unfairly targeted by the Shia-led government's new anti-terror legislation.
