ALBAWABA- Iranian media have reported that the Iranian ambassador in Lebanon was injured in a cyber attack believed to be carried out by Israel, targeting both Lebanon and Syria.
Syrian and Iranian Revolutionary Guard outlets confirmed that several Hezbollah members in Syria were also injured after communication devices they were carrying exploded.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health has called on citizens to donate blood for the wounded, while 50 additional ambulances have been placed on high alert in Mount Lebanon and Beirut for rescue operations.
Although Israel has not officially claimed responsibility, Yedioth Ahronoth hinted at Israel's involvement, citing remarks from a close adviser to Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Notably, In a coordinated cyberattack, Israel reportedly hacked communication devices used by Hezbollah members, causing them to explode in various regions of Lebanon, according to a Lebanese security source speaking to Al Jazeera.
The explosions, which occurred in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Bekaa, and southern Lebanon, resulted in hundreds of injuries.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health has issued an urgent advisory, instructing citizens to dispose of any pager devices immediately, while hospitals have been asked to raise their emergency preparedness levels.
