Iran: Sanctions will not change our nuclear stand

Iran's Government spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham, said on Sunday that Tehran's nuclear stand is "strong and transparent" and that such a stand would not change through any sanction or threat. "We still believe that the nuclear talks are progressing," Elham reiterated, acording to IRNA.

On imposing new sanctions against Iran by the Western states, he said, the Group 5+1 member states have no consensus on imposition of new sanctions against Iran. Certain countries are willing to make use of the new sanctions as political means, he said, stressing that such a move will bear no fruit. This can be only considered as a psychological propaganda campaign, Elham added.

Iran will resist to such moves and will not retreat from its rights, he said. Elham further voiced Tehran's readiness to make use of appropriate tactics if needed.
