An Iranian appeal court cut by several years Thursday sentences imposed on 10 Jews convicted in July of spying for Israel, Shiraz judiciary chief Hossein-Ali Amiri told journalists.
He said that all of the men, who had filed an appeal after being originally sentenced to prison terms of between four and 13 years in the controversial case, had their sentences reduced.
Hamid Tefelin and Asher Zadmehr, who had each been slapped with 13-year terms, had their sentences reduced to nine and seven years respectively.
Nasser Levi-Haim, given 11 years in July, had the term reduced to seven years after the appeal while Ramin Farzam saw his 10 years reduced to eight -- SHIRAZ, Iran (AFP)
