Iran's Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi left Istanbul Saturday, after participating in a meeting on Iraq, on his way to New York to take part in a gathering of world nations to review the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Representatives of up to 190 nations are expected to gather in New York to address rising doubts about the sustainability of the non-proliferation regime, IRNA reported.
Israel, which is reported to have several hundred nuclear warheads has not signed the NPT and prevents the International Atomic Energy Agency from inspecting its bomb-making facilities.
