ALBAWABA - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) confirmed Monday the killing of its navy commander, Alireza Tangsiri, who was killed in an Israeli-US attack days ago, Fars news agency reported.
The Israeli army announced on March 26 the killing of Iranian naval official Alireza Tangsiri, who is the main person behind the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The Jerusalem Post reported, citing an informed source, that the commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy was killed in a strike in Bandar Abbas.
Israeli Channel 12 reported on Thursday that the army assassinated the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's naval forces, Alireza Tangsiri.
Alireza Tangsiri has headed the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy since 2018.
The war between Israel, Iran and the United States began when Washington and Tel Aviv launched a preemptive attack against Tehran on Feb. 28, killing many leaders in the Iranian army in addition to the then-supreme leader Ali Khamenei and several members of his family. However, his son, Mojtaba, who was elected as the new supreme leader of the country.
