Official time in Iran will be set back one hour starting midnight Wednesday, Iran's official news agency (IRNA) reported the same day.

The agency quoted the presidential office as saying that clocks are to be adjusted by deducting one hour from the standard time as of Wednesday midnight based on a decision taken by the Cabinet in August 1991.

On the first day of every spring Iranian time, as well as those of most other four-season countries, is adjusted by one hour for energy saving purposes, IRNA said, noting that by Thursday, Iranian official time will be 03:30 hours ahead of GMT - Albawaba.com
