Recent surveys shows that there are about 600,000 children in Morocco, between the ages of 7 to 14, who go to work everyday instead of going to school.
In their fight against this phenomenon of child labor, the various associations in Morocco, devoted to this issue, have been cooperating with the ILO (the International Labor Organization) and its IPEC Program (the International Program for the Elimination of Child Labor).
Through IPEC Program (sponsored by the ILO), reports Bladi.Net, several hundreds children in Morocco were withdrawn from their working places and put back to school, hundreds of others were directed to non-formal education and to vocational training.
According to an official statement by IPEC, there are about 246 million children in the world, age 5 to 17, who work and more than 100 million children in the world do not have any access to education.
