ALBAWABA- Israel intensified airstrikes on Baalbek in eastern Lebanon, targeting fuel tanks in Douris. Following the raids, heavy smoke filled the skies as Israeli jets broke the sound barrier over Beirut.

Additionally, in southern Lebanon, Israeli forces destroyed buildings in Houla and attempted to intercept a suspected drone near Haifa, with sirens blaring across the Haifa Bay area due to suspected airspace violations.

In response, Hezbollah fighters fired rockets at Israeli forces in Wadi al-Asafir, south of Khiam, also targeting a Merkava tank in the Hamams area.

Israeli sources reported a rocket landing in the sea near Haifa and ongoing aerial monitoring of threats from Lebanon.

In his first public address as Hezbollah’s new Secretary-General, Naim Qassem reaffirmed his commitment to the “Resistance Axis,” vowing to continue the resistance stance of his predecessor, Hassan Nasrallah, who was recently assassinated.

Qassem condemned Israeli airspace violations and emphasized Hezbollah’s readiness, stating, "Our resistance exists to confront occupation."

He also touched on the broader implications of the current conflict, describing it as a coordinated effort by Israeli, American, and European forces to “eliminate resistance” in the region, emphasizing that Hezbollah’s resistance will shape Lebanon’s future.
