HP has hosted a series of roadshows across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with IT giants Intel, Microsoft and SAP. Held in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar, the Integrity Re-loaded roadshows focused on HP integrity servers based on Intel Itanium technology, and showcased its many advantages to companies located in the Kingdom.
Abdullah Al Mohaisen, HP Saudi – Country Managing Director, said the three roadshows were held in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar on June 13, 14 and 15 respectively, focusing on the benefits of using Itanium technology on HP platforms, with interactive sessions for participating companies.
"Jointly with Microsoft, Intel, and SAP, we intend raising awareness of HP Integrity servers which synchronises business and information technology to capitalise on change. The Saudi market is a key focus for us and we are keenly working closely with our partners to ensure that businesses in the kingdom have access to the latest technologies. While Intel presented the benefits of using Itanium technology on HP platforms, Microsoft and SAP presented their enterprise solutions based on HP Platforms,” he added.
He said that together with their chosen partners, HP intended driving Integrity servers as the premier server platform for customers across the Kingdom, as an answer to their most demanding workloads.
"As HP and Intel continue to invest in server innovation, particularly in Itanium, Integrity servers have emerged as a 'must have' competitive weapon to drive customer value for the next decade and beyond. The Integrity server has fast gained ground as an ideal building block for creating the simplicity, agility and flexibility of an Adaptive Enterprise that today's fiercely competitive environment calls for. By providing an unmatched, cost-efficient, high-performance, multi-operating system infrastructure, what it offers companies is the value they need to reduce IT costs and complexity, and to adapt quickly and easily to changing business needs," he elaborated.
Abdullah Al Mohaisen added that the event also highlighted HP as best alliance partner.
"Microsoft has been working closely with HP and Intel on a range of industry-leading solutions that offer compelling value to customers who require the highest levels of scalability for their mission-critical high-end business applications and database solutions. As for SAP, Itanium platforms for Windows provide the breakthrough performance and price-performance that SAP customers demand, with a safe and reliable result that protects existing investments and maximises return," he explained.
A few months ago, HP announced an investment of more than USD 3 billion over the next three years designed to vault Intel Itanium 2-based HP Integrity servers to the leadership position in the USD 20 billion market currently served by RISC processors. HP expects that Itanium-based Integrity server unit sales will grow to more than half of HP's Business Critical Server unit sales by the end of calendar year 2005 and to 70 percent by the end of 2006.
