Middle East travellers have the chance to catch up with the famous ocean racer Loick Peyron and other sailing stars on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland next month.
French Peyron has completed two Vendee Globes and has won the Multihull ORMA World Championships five times and the British Transat Race twice. He will be among the top personalities from the world of sailing rubbing shoulders with guests when the famous Beau-Rivage Palace hotel in Lausanne stages its annual three-day sailing Grand Prix on the Lake on September 23.
Famous Swiss skippers Steve Ravussin, Dominique Wavre and Bernard Stamm will also join the competition and will be challenging each other onboard the fastest boats that ever sailed on Lake Geneva, the catamarans Decision 35.
A regular summer getaway destination for Middle East visitors, the Beau-Rivage Palace offers guests wonderful opportunities to view all the action from their room or suite balconies overlooking Lake Geneva. They will also have plenty of opportunities to meet the Grand Prix stars who will be taking part in head-to-head races as well as speed events.
The Beau-Rivage Palace offers sumptuous accommodation and beautiful private parklands sweeping down close to the water’s edge. Many of the individually designed rooms and suites overlook the lake, and the Alps.
Guests can choose to dine in the elegant surroundings of the classic La Rotonde restaurant or take an informal meal at the Café Beau-Rivage, both of which offers great views of the lake and gardens.
The Beau-Rivage Palace has put together a special package for guests wanting to enjoy the sailing from their balconies or on the water. For CHF 650 (Dhs. 1,900) per person for two nights guests can enjoy accommodation in a superior lake-view room, breakfast, one dinner in La Rotonde, access to the VIP zones and the possibility of sailing with one of the stars on the famous Decision 35 catamarans.
