Ten Kuwait-based Gulf Air travel agents and nine Gulf Air cargo agents were honoured in recognition of their sales performance for 2005 recently.
In an award ceremony held at Movenpick Hotel, Kuwait, attended by senior executives from the travel and cargo trade, members of Gulf Air sales team and media representatives, Gulf Air General Manager, Kuwait Houssam Weiss congratulated the award-winning agents and presented them the awards.
The ceremony, held annually by Gulf Air, recognises the outstanding business performances of its Kuwait-based travel agents every year. The awards are given out in four categories with the top three agents receiving the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards respectively, and the rest receiving Certificates of Appreciation for their sales performance.
Al Shamel Travel bagged the Gold Award for 2005 while Uniglobe Badur Travel was the winner of the Silver Award. The Bronze Award went to Boodai Aviation.
Certificates of Merit were distributed to Caesars Travel, Musaad Al Saleh Travel, Al Sayed Travel, Dnata Travel, Jumbo Travel, Barakat Travel and Al Mirjah Travel.
Among the cargo agents of Gulf Air, Alkazemi Cargo took the Golden award while the Silver Award was presented to Alrashed International Freight. Certificates of Appreciation were given to Universal Freight, Global Logistics Cargo, Almanaa Cargo Co, Union International Cargo, Naser Mohd Alsayer Fright, Alsawan Cargo and Kuwait Trecko International
“Gulf Air works closely with its travel agents and recognises the important role they play in our business. Therefore, we feel it is equally important to recognise their performances,” says Mr Weiss.

Gulf Air has been running the award for many years and agents in every region are honoured for their sales performances through such award ceremonies.
