The S. P. JAIN Center of Management (SPJCM) in Dubai marked its 8th convocation ceremony on June 18th in an event that witnessed around 170 graduates successfully being conferred with their MBA degrees. The special event was graced by Mr. Nitish Jain, President (SPJCM), Professor Christopher Abraham, Head – Dubai Campus and Sr. Vice President and Dr. Balakrishna Grandhi, Dean of the Executive MBA, and guest of honor Mr. Rajeev Kakar, Executive Director & CEO of Dunia Finance, a leading financial services company based in the UAE.
The event started with the lighting of the lamp by the President and a welcome address given by Dr. Dhrupad Mathur, Director, Projects at SPJCM. This was followed by a Presidential speech by Mr. Nitish Jain, who reminded the graduating students of the importance of being prepared in an increasingly uncertain world. The essence of his message was that tomorrow's world would only reward those who would make a difference.
Dr. Grandhi then spoke of the need for a new breed of executives and professionals known as a 'Corporate Athletes'. The key elements for the success of the corporate athletes were further highlighted by Prof. Christopher Abraham in his address to the graduates. He urged the graduates to never give up in life and never forget life's most important lesson – attitude.
The highlight of the evening's function was the keynote address delivered by the guest of honor and dunia CEO Mr. Rajeev Kakar. In a rousing address, the gathering was captivated by his inspiring words that reminded graduates that convocation does not just mark the end of an academic program, but also signifies a new beginning in their life, and that life's lessons are all about doing things correctly and ethically.
"The drivers of success in life are many but all are logical and closely connected. It is all about right values, belief in yourself and willingness to act. It is all about hope, execution and accomplishment", concluded Mr. Kakar.
The graduates then celebrated the occasion by tossing their graduation hats and marking the formal conclusion of the evening's eventful program.
S P Jain's graduates have consistently performed well in their corporate careers and now armed with the MBA Degree aim to reach newer heights of excellence in the future.
Dunia has previously partnered with S. P. Jain to provide academic courses for Emirati students and young professionals under the umbrella of its Emirati talent development scheme "Kawader". Since then, several students have graduated from the program and have been employed by dunia.
