A distinguished jury’s vote determined the most elegant female and male riders at the CSIO La Baule, or Jumping International Officiel de France. Georgina Bloomberg of the USA and Hervé Godignon of France were rewarded for their elegance, charisma and poise during the Nations Cup.
The winners of this initial stage of the Longines Prize for Elegance were each presented with a set of Longines watches, garnering valuable points for the final Longines Prize for Elegance ranking. The last, and decisive, stage of the Longines Prize for Elegance, with 60,000 Swiss francs in prize money, will take place at the end of the season, at the CSIO Barcelona.
The jury named young American rider Georgina Bloomberg, who rode to victory in the Nations Cup, edging out Christina Liebherr of Switzerland, and Hervé Godignon, of France, as the most elegant riders of this initial stage of the Longines Prize for Elegance. Both received a set of elegant Longines watches.
All contenders for the title will compete again at the CSIO Piazza di Siena in Rome, Italy, vying for advancement in the second stage of the Longines Prize for Elegance. The next tournament will take place at the CSIO Schweiz in St. Gallen, Switzerland, then at the Longines International Horse Show in Hickstead, United Kingdom, and lastly at the CSIO Barcelona, in Spain.
