ALBAWABA - The Gaza Health Ministry reported on Saturday that Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours resulted in 23 deaths and 83 injuries, raising the overall toll since October 2023 to 46,899 killed and 110,725 injured.
The ministry revealed that three massacres were committed by Israeli forces targeting families across Gaza, despite the recent announcement of a ceasefire agreement. Emergency services face challenges in retrieving victims due to restricted access to rubble-filled areas.
Families of victims and missing individuals have been urged to provide complete details to the Ministry of Health via designated platforms to ensure accurate records.
The Gaza Civil Defense stated that, following the ceasefire declaration, 122 people have been killed, and over 270 injured by Israeli military actions.
On Wednesday, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani confirmed a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas. The deal was hailed by Hamas as a testament to the resilience of the Palestinian people and their resistance over the past 15 months.
The initial phase of the agreement includes the release of 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences, 400 with long-term sentences, and 1,000 detainees from Gaza arrested post-October 7. It also secures the release of women, children, and those re-arrested after the Shalit prisoner swap.
The United Nations reported earlier that 70% of casualties during Israel’s military operations in Gaza between November 2023 and April 2024 were women and children, underscoring the devastating impact on civilians.
