Four Palestinians wounded by Israeli fire as Arafat says ''not afraid'' from Sharon threats

Three Palestinians, including two children, were wounded as Israeli forces stormed on Wednesday the West Bank city of Nablus and imposed a strict curfew, medics and witnesses told WAFA

 

Witnesses said the three were wounded when Israeli military vehicles, rolled into the Msallam neighbourhood in the Old City of Nablus. 

 

Palestinian medical sources said Yasser Msallam was wounded with a live bullet in the left leg while a schoolgirl, identified as Bayan Omran, suffered suffocation. 

 

WAFA reporter said that Israeli soldiers launched a house-to-house search campaign while military vehicles took positions in the Hittin, Anbiya and Shweitreh streets. 

 

In the Gaza Strip, one civilian was injured Tuesday night by Israeli fire in the city of Khan Younis, medics and witnesses said. Medical sources confirmed Hussein Khdair, 21, was moderately wounded with a life gunshot in the right leg. 

 

Meanwhile, Yasser Arafat dismissed latest threats to his life by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. "I am not afraid of Sharon's threats," Arafat told the Tel Aviv-based Yediot Aharonot newspaper.  

 

"Do you know me as a person who is afraid? I am afraid only of Allah," he conveyed. (Albawaba.com)
