Israel freed on Wednesday five Palestinian prisoners as part of a swap deal with the Lebanese Hizbullah movement that brought the bodies of two Israeli soldiers home. The Israeli cabinet approved their release earlier this week, marking the final stage of the swap deal. None of the freed Palestinians was involved in deadly attacks against Israelis, Israeli officials said, according to Reuters.

Meanwhile, an Israeli website reported on Wednesday that Khaled Kashkush, a 29-year-old resident of the Arab town of Kalansua, is suspected of spying for Hizbullah.  Kashkush, who was arrested last month, was served with an indictment Wednesday morning at an Israel court near Tel Aviv. He is suspected of receiving a payment of 13,000 euros from a Lebanese handler whom he met while completing his studies in Germany, Haaretz reported.

Kashkush is alleged to have gathered data on Israeli security personnel and is also said to have applied for a job at a hospital where he could also get his hands on sensitive information, the report added.
