An Iranian women, aged 41 has decided to run in the upcoming 8th presidential elections next year, reported Iran News Agency (IRNA).
Farah Khosravi, holder of a masters degree in management and planning, is the secretary-general of the Iran-e Farda Society, which is said to be a right wing group, said the agency.
She ran for a seat in the fourth and fifth Majlis (parliament) but failed.
Currently, she directs the physical exercise curriculum for schools under the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and also monitors appointments in the ministry, added IRNA.
Her decision has once again brought into focus a disagreement over the interpretation of article 115 of the constitution, which stipulated that "the president should be elected from among spiritual and political men."
Until now, only the current president, Mohammed Khatami, has announced his candidacy for the presidential election, IRNA added - Albawaba.com
