Fast Express, the express and logistics company from the Emirates National Group (ENG), today announced the launch of its operations with a AED 7 million initial investment from ENG. ENG is one of the leading transportation services providers in the UAE with a fleet of over 7,000 vehicles and owns Fast Rent a Car, Fast Limo and Emirates Taxi, among other leading brands.
"The region's economy is booming and there is a growing need for express and logistics solutions across several sectors of industry. The industry in the UAE is expanding at a rate of 30 per cent annually and is currently valued at AED 13.8 billion. It is therefore an opportune time for ENG to enter this sector,” said Mr. Ahmed Abood Al Boasy, Group General Manager, Emirates National Group, the parent company of Fast Express.
The express and logistics market in the GCC is valued at AED 39.5 billion and is growing at 17 per cent annually. Saudi Arabia and the UAE account for fifty-five and thirty five percent of this market respectively.
"Our initial investment of AED seven million in Fast Express signifies the Group's commitment to expanding into the highly attractive markets for express and logistics solutions within the emirates and beyond," added Mr. Al Boasy.
Fast Express will initially focus on the UAE market and will gradually expand in the Gulf region, as well as internationally.
"Fast Express strongly leverages the excellent credentials and infrastructure of our sister companies such as Fast Rent a Car which has 16 offices in the UAE, to offer clients truly customer-centered solutions to their express and logistics needs" said Mr. Kartik Pandit, an industry veteran with more than two decades of international industry experience who has been appointed as General Manager of Fast Express.

Fast Express offers domestic shipping services to all emirates as well as international services to a wide choice of locations worldwide. A 'bullet service' guarantees delivery of shipments within the space of two hours within Dubai or between Dubai and Sharjah, and three hours between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. A special service called "Feelings" is also offered through which customers can order flowers, chocolates and gifts to be delivered to their loved ones, via limousine.
"On the technology front, we have made substantial investments to guarantee complete peace of mind to our customers. Every shipment sent via Fast Express is scanned at each stage of the journey to enable the customer to view the movement of the shipment on a real time basis. Regular updates about the status of shipments can also be received by the customer via email" said Mr. Kartik.
