ALBAWABA - Two drones that were launched from Lebanon entered Israeli airspace this evening, causing explosions that echoed across Tel Aviv. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), one of the drones was successfully intercepted by their air defense systems.
The IDF has opened an inquiry into the event, and no casualties have been recorded as of yet. Military sources claim that a building in Herzliya, central Israel, was damaged by the explosions, which were either the result of a drone crash near Tel Aviv or its interception.
After the drone incursion triggered air raid sirens, Israeli Channel 12 reported a power loss in Herzliya. Pictures of a Tel Aviv elderly home damaged by a missile meant to intercept the drones have surfaced. The drone launches have not yet been attributed to any one outfit.
Security authorities are reportedly concerned about possible drone assaults on Tel Aviv later tonight, according to reports from Israeli media. Hezbollah, the Houthi movement, and other groups have launched drone attacks on Tel Aviv in recent days in an effort to show solidarity for Gaza, which has been under Israeli bombardment for the last 12 months.
