The French Institute of Casablanca has organized a unique cultural event on the topic of ‘The Politics of Creation and Political Work’, starting from April 27. The event, explained Zhor Rhihil, one of the exhibition directors, includes a painting exhibition, workshops, a conference and a number of meetings, which are all aimed at igniting an open debate on the topic.
Youssouf Amine Elalamy, another one of the exhibition directors added that the main point of this event is to assert that "the artist is not only, any more, merely a witness of his time and an attentive eye of the surrounding world but also an actor in this reality, who rather than transcribing it can dispute, transform and sublimate it."
<i>Le Matin</i> reports that after Casablanca the exhibition will continue to Tangier.
