Emirates Telecommunications Corporation- Etisalat- Sharjah region conducted a lecture, presentation and free health check-up for its employees in the corporation building in Sharjah. Doctors, medical workers and representatives of Sharjah Medical Area conducted the programme. The focus was on anti-smoking, and the session and subsequent health check was well-attended.
Abdul Aziz Al Taryam, Deputy General Manager for Etisalat’s West Coast region, said: “We coordinated with Sharjah Medical Area to bring this campaign to show our support for employees and to spread awareness about the hazards of smoking and the importance of regular health checks. Employees attended a lecture about smoking and its harmful effects and the Sharjah Medical Area team conducted a medical test for attendees.”
He noted that the campaign was the second after the first anti-smoking campaign was held in Etisalat’s Head office in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the New Medical Center (NMC).
Both campaigns were organized as part of the corporation commitment towards supporting the community, conducting and sponsoring charitable projects in the UAE. Besides, its role in encouraging the adoption of CSR policies by companies operating in UAE as well as the region.
