etihad wins top award for economy cuisine
Etihad Airways is the airline with the best economy class food in the world, according to a global survey by Skytrax.
The poll was commissioned and conducted by Skytrax Research of London and is the result of 2,256,203 interviews from more than 90 different nationalities.
Etihad received notable praise for several aspects of its economy class in-flight catering, such as new monthly menus on its short and long haul routes and a choice of three fresh meals including a vegetarian and halal option.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ executive vice president marketing and product, said: “To be voted the Skytrax best economy class for catering upholds Etihad’s pledge to offer the very best in-flight experience across all our cabins.
“Our customers regularly tell us how important in-flight dining is to them, which is why we strive to offer as wide a choice as possible and that our meals are always freshly prepared.”
In addition to the award-winning dining, Etihad’s economy class also offers a seat pitch of 33 inches, which exceeds industry standards, and more than 400 hours of world-class entertainment on a 10.4-inch personal seatback TV screen.
