Epson has introduced its premium flatbed scanner, the Perfection V750 Pro in the Middle East, offering professional photographers the advanced film scanning capability of a dedicated film scanner.

It is the world’s first reasonably-priced flatbed scanner that packs a resolution of up to 6400dpi x 9600dpi, the innovative Dual Lens system, Digital ICE Technologies and 4.0 DMax optical density that makes for excellent tone reproduction. The scanner is bundled with a fully comprehensive software suite that includes Adobe PhotoShop, Elements 3.0, SilverFast Ai and Monaco EZcolor.

Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East said: “The Perfection V750 Pro features a High Pass Optics system that ensures improved scanning speed and quality. The anti-reflection optical coating applied to the glass on the scanner, eliminates reflection and ghosting, and produces a sharp and clear image. At the same time, a high reflection mirror built into the scanner, improves the reflection of the scanned light to the sensor, and results in faster scanning speeds.”

The Perfection V750 Pro scanner’s Dual Lens System features a Super Resolution Lens that allows up to 6400dpi film scanning for images of up to 5.9 inch width, and a High Resolution Lens offering up to 4800dpi reflective scanning and film scanning for images of more than 5.9 inch width. By providing two lenses instead of one single lens Epson is able to offer the high resolution of 6400dpi in this cost-effective scanner, without increasing the A4 footprint or compromising on quality.

The scanner also incorporates Digital ICE Technologies with an effective Digital ICE film scanning area of 9.1 by 5.7 inches that automatically removes dust, scratches, dirt and fingerprints from film and photos to create a crisp and clear final image.  It offers fast scanning speeds, of as little as 44 seconds for a 35mm film and 11 seconds for an A4 monochrome document, and easier connection with USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 (FireWire) interfaces.

Additionally, the Perfection V750 Pro comes with a large scanning area of up to 8x10 inches (203 x 254mm) and four film holders that support 35mm film strips and slides in medium and large format film. This facilitates batch scanning of multiple originals for increased productivity, allowing users to insert four strips of 35mm films, twelve 35mm mounted slides, two 6x20cm (max) 120/220 frames and two 4x5” frames, in one go.

“The Perfection V750 Pro marks another technological breakthrough by Epson and reinforces its position as the sole choice for professional photo scanning. Preferably used with the Epson Stylus Photo R2400, the scanner offers professional photographers premium image quality delivered easily and quickly in his/her own photo-studio. The scanner’s ability to handle all common film formats and scan multiple images simultaneously makes it a highly versatile solution for digitising film,” El-Dalu added.
