Egypt’s foreign minister Ahmad Maher said Sunday that foreign ministers from Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt would meet with United States President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell at the end of the quartet Middle East meetings.

In statements to the press, before heading to New York for the quartet meetings, Maher said Bush and the ministers would discuss recent developments in the Middle East.

The goal, according to Maher, is to end the escalation, reach an Israeli withdrawal, and help political progress in addition to the establishment and recognition of a Palestinian state, KUNA reported. (Albawaba.com)
