Egyptian and US officials will hold talks this month over the establishment of a free trade zone.
The talks will take place during a visit to Washington by an official delegation headed by Minister of Economy and Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali, according to the Al Ahram Arabic daily on Friday.
After a meeting with Prime Minister Atef Ebeid on Thursday, the US ambassador to Cairo, Danial Kurtzer, was quoted by the paper as saying he discussed with the premier “important issues pertaining to Egypt-US relations,” including obstacles facing economic growth in the Arab country.
Kurtzer’s mission in Cairo has ended and a new envoy will replace him in September, said Al Ahram – Albawaba.com
