Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (“DUBAL”), which owns and operates one of the largest single-site aluminium smelters in the world, had the opportunity to share its expert knowledge and benchmark experience in various areas of the company on 4 October 2010, when a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Education visited the company’s Jebel Ali site.
In different presentations to the delegates — covering fields as diverse as Quality Assurance & Business Excellence, Information Technologies, Compensation & Benefits & HR Support and Finance Department — DUBAL champions shared the success story and practices implemented. The latter included the IT latest technologies, Corporate Balanced scorecard, Human Resources communications improvement techniques and DUBAL’s efforts to increase employee involvement through the Employee Suggestion Scheme.
“DUBAL always strives to generate new technologies and put these into operation. We believe that our employees are invaluable assets and the company’s main success factor. Our management therefore continuously motivates personnel to discover better ways of achieving the same objectives as well as to improve productivity using technological advances. One of the most valuable tools DUBAL has implemented to stimulate the creative thinking of our people is the DUBAL Suggestion Scheme, which regularly attracts organizations to our company to find out more about it,” said Marwan Al Sawaleh (General Manager: Human Resources). “The visit from Ministry of Education allowed us to share how we involve our employees in the day-to-day activities of our business.”
Al Sawaleh added that DUBAL was delighted to receive the Ministry of Education delegation. “We are very proud of our company’s achievements and believe in sharing our successes with others.”
