The first phase of the Dubai Internet City (DIC) will become operational on October 28th, the Gulf News reported Wednesday.
Saeed Al Muntafiq, chief executive of Dubai Media City told the daily that "the first phase will be commissioned as per the original schedule. About 95 percent of the 400,000-square-foot leasable area has been taken up.”
He added that "there were skeptics, both in the region and elsewhere, who thought this would just be a real estate project. We have proved them wrong. What we have on offer now is the attitude that nothing is impossible, and the environment and infrastructure to conduct their businesses.
"It is not just the sales and marketing offices of various IT companies which will be housed here. Leading IT companies have confirmed they will be shifting some of their value chain from Europe and elsewhere to Dubai," the official said - Albawaba.com
