DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics specialist has expanded its range of services for Formula One™.
The merger with Exel in December widens the offering of services for teams, officials and sponsors in the world’s most popular racing series. This includes transporting of race cars, engines, wheels, spare parts and TV equipment to racetracks overseas as well as the supply of more than 1 million liters of fuel used during the 18 races on four continents.
Formula One™ starts its 2006 season on March 12 in Bahrain. DHL has been supporting Formula One™ as a Global Partner and Official Logistics Provider since 2004.
Phil Couchman, Regional Director of DHL Middle East, said: “Teamwork, speed and credibility are the essence of Formula One™. Speed, precision and seamless service are the trademarks of DHL – they are the main reason that the company was selected as Formula One™’s Official Logistics Partner.”
For each racing weekend, DHL will deliver up to 300 tons of equipment, enough to fill about 100 trucks. At the track, DHL’s mobile logistics centre will provide 24-hour service covering everything from the delivery of parcels and documents to customs services and shipments of dangerous and temperature-sensitive goods. DHL will also transport all of the material for the Paddock Club, the exclusive VIP area.
Together with Exel’s competencies, DHL can now build on more than 20 years of logistics experience and expertise on behalf of the world’s premier motor sports organisation.
