Death toll surpasses 5,000 in Libya due to storm Daniel

The Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh government reports that nearly a quarter of Darnah city has been submerged, with over 10,000 people missing, and many of their bodies washing up on the seashore.

ALBAWABA- Eastern Libya areas are grappling with a devastating aftermath as the death toll from Storm Daniel rises above 5,000 victims. 

The catastrophic impact of the storm has left Libyans in shock and mourning, with extensive damage reported across the eastern region of Derna and Benghazi. 

Authorities are mobilizing rescue and relief efforts to aid the affected populations in the face of this tragic natural disaster. 

The Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh government reports that nearly a quarter of Darnah city has been submerged, with over 10,000 people missing, and many of their bodies washing up on the seashore. 

In response, the Libyan government has earmarked half a billion dollars for the reconstruction of the devastated areas.
