ALBAWABA- A devastating explosion involving three domestic gas tanks on the road connecting Al-Bayda and Lahj provinces in the Al-Zaher Al-Humaiqan area has left over 90 people dead or injured. 

The incident, which occurred in a Houthi-controlled region, triggered a massive fire, as seen in videos shared on social media. The explosion caused extensive damage, burning or destroying several cars and leaving many local residents critically wounded.

The Houthi movement announced on Sunday that the death toll had risen to 17, with dozens more injured. The blast reportedly took place at a gas station and storage facility, according to medical sources and local officials.

The Houthi-run Ministry of Health confirmed that the total number of victims has reached 91, including 17 fatalities and over 50 individuals in critical condition.

The ministry added, “The injured have been transported to hospitals and specialized centers for urgent medical care. 

Medical, ambulance, and civil defense teams are continuing their efforts to locate and assist missing individuals.”
