Date set for next round of Sudan peace talks

Sudanese rebels and government officials will push ahead with peace talks, officials said on Thursday.  

 

Osama Mahjiub Hassan, second secretary at the Sudan Embassy, stated that the talks will take place on August 12th in the Kenyan town of Machakos, according to SPA. An official with the regional Intergovernmental Authority on Development, which is mediating the peace process, confirmed that the two sides had agreed to participate in the August 12th discussions.
