Damascus Radio on Wednesday warned that any war on Iraq would lead to “tragedies”, which would be “reflected negatively” on the entire world and would threaten the region with “huge dangers”.

In its daily political commentary, the state-run radio wondered about the world’s silence regarding regional events and developments against “our people, causes, lands and nation”.

The radio further asked how the Iraqi issue and military build up to launch a pre-planned war on Iraq could be explained, regardless of the possible outcomes of the inspections, which have thus far affirmed that Baghdad is a dangerous weapons free country.

The radio, cited by SANA, wondered why the international community does not exert efforts and ask Israel about its “criminal acts against the Palestinian people”.

Furthermore, the radio stressed that “what is happening on the Arabian territories is ... just an attempt to dictate an unfair will, with the aim of eradication causes, ... ignoring the most complicated and dangerous issues”. (Albawaba.com)
