Iraqi President Saddam Hussein received a message from his Cuban counterpart Fidel Castro on Saturday expressing his solidarity with Iraq in the face of US threats, the official INA agency said.
The message, read by Cuban MP Rodrigo Alvarez Cambras during his visit to Baghdad, expressed "the solidarity of Cuba in the face of external threats," the report said. Moreover, President Castro expressed Havana’s "full support for a lifting of the embargo" imposed on Iraq by the United Nations Security Council since 1990. (Albawaba.com)
