ALBAWABA- In a bold move, Colombian President Gustavo Petro has urged the international community to cut diplomatic relations with Israel if it fails to adhere to the UN Security Council's ceasefire resolution for Gaza.
The call comes after the long-awaited UN resolution aimed at an immediate ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza. Petro emphasized that Colombia would take decisive action if Israel disregards the UN's directive.
However, Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Israel Katz, condemned Petro's stance, labeling it as support for Hamas and a disgrace to the Colombian people.
Katz reiterated Israel's commitment to protecting its citizens and rejected any pressure to comply with international resolutions.
Meanwhile, despite the UN resolution, Israel's aggression in Gaza persists, with over 76 Palestinians killed in the last 24 hours alone.
Shockingly, the death toll since the beginning of the Israeli military operation on October 8, 2023, has risen to over 32,000 Palestinians, with nearly 75,000 suffering injuries and 27 children succumbing to malnutrition.
Israel's actions underscore its disregard for international community resolutions regarding the conflict in Gaza.
