ALBAWABA - At least two people were killed after clashes returned to Sweida city in Syria between Druze gunmen and Bedouin tribesmen, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Sunday.

According to the Observatory, mortar shells struck Ara Town in Sweida countryside, southern Syria, on Sunday morning, fired by Bedouin tribesmen from the “Christian Cemetery” area.

In return, SOHR said that Druze gunmen responded to the attack and opened fire against the source of fire in the cemetery.

SOHR reported that a member of the General Security was killed and seven others were injured, according to a preliminary toll, as clashes erupted with local factions on the Tal Hadid axis in the western Sweida countryside.

It added This brings the death toll for today to two, one from Sweida and the other a member of the General Security. This is despite the ceasefire agreement, which was approved earlier to end tension in southern Syria.
