Lebanon's Christian Maronite bishops called Wednesday for Syrian troops to leave Lebanon, following the end of Israel's occupation of the south of the country last May.
"In order to strengthen the ties of brotherhood between Lebanon and Syria ... it is time to re-deploy the Syrian army ahead of its withdrawal from Lebanon under UN Security Council resolution 520," the bishops of Lebanon's largest Christian community said in a statement - BEIRUT (AFP)
