The events surrounding Charlize Theron’s father's death are unclear but she knows one thing; she wishes she'd had a proper

relationship him.

The Legend of Bagger Vance’s father died, after reportedly coming home drunk one night and trying to attack Charlize and her mother Gerda. South African press widely report Gerda then shot Charles in self-defense.

However recent reports have insisted he died from a road accident; but nevertheless Theron wishes she had got to know him better

before he died.

She says, "my father was an alcoholic, which brings many problems

into a family; it affects everything in your life.

"It's very unfortunate that my father and I never had a

substantial relationship the way my mother and I do. He wasn't

happy with his life, with himself. It's not an excuse, I'm just

stating facts."

She adds, "I don't have a single memory of my father sitting down

with me and talking just person to person” – WENN.

On the other hand, the beautiful actress holds good memories of other aspects of her life.

In fact, Charlize has some wonderful memories of the Oscars;

particularly having Julianne Moore holding her buttocks.

Theron wore a stunning backless Vera Wang creation to the prestigious ceremony earlier this year.

But while the South African visited the bathroom during one of

the glitzy parties; someone trod on her train and ripped it.

Theron says, "Julianne Moore was in the bathroom and she said,

'What happened?' This is my fondest memory of the Oscars.

"She was on all fours with a safety pin, with her hands

underneath the dress pining it together, cradling my bottom.

"She wasn't fazed at all. She said, 'Now my hands are cold'” – WENN.
