ALBAWABA - Donald Trump, President of the United States, mourned in a statement video from the Oval Office the killing of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
Charlie Kirk is a conservative political activist and co-founder of "Turning Point USA". A video showing the moment of the shooting attack went viral on social media.
An FBI investigation was launched into the killing of Charlie, Utah Department of Public Safety said, adding that the attacker is believed to have shot one time from a nearby roof in a "targeted attack" hitting the victim's neck and leading to his death.
The attacker is still on the run, while two other people were arrested and freed, the department said.
Trump posted a touchable messege mourning the death of his ally Charlie Kirk and praying God to give strength to his family. Trump said that the death of the right-wing political activist is considered a "dark moment for America".
"Radical left political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives. Tonight, I ask all Americans to commit themselves to the American values for which Charlie Kirk lived and died," Trump added.
Furthermore, U.S. First Lady Melania expressed her grief on Wednesday for Kirk's two young kids, calling for more "compassionate awareness".
"We lost an incredible human being," said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu via X, adding, "Charlie Kirk was murdered for speaking truth and defending freedom. A lion-hearted friend of Israel, he fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization. I spoke to him only two weeks ago and invited him to Israel. Sadly, that visit will not take place."
Furthermore, the baseball team, New York Yankees, held a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk, 31, after his shocking death.
