ALBAWABA- U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the Gaza ceasefire agreement is expected to take effect on Sunday.

He emphasized that Israel’s full integration into the region hinges on ending the war in Gaza and highlighted promising prospects for the Middle East following the ceasefire.

Blinken stated, “When Israel was attacked, we were not the only ones defending it; countries in the region also stood by it.” He added that the Biden administration is committed to addressing governance issues in Gaza post-conflict through a comprehensive plan.

Reports indicate that final disagreements over the ceasefire deal have been resolved. Axios cited an American source confirming progress, while Israel’s Broadcasting Authority quoted officials saying the agreement is ready to be implemented.

CNN reported that the Israeli Cabinet will vote on the deal tomorrow, following briefings from the Shin Bet and Mossad chiefs returning from Qatar.

Additionally, Channel 12 Israel stated that the negotiating team will update government ministers on the exchange deal, which involves the release of hostages and prisoners. An Israeli political source confirmed to local media that the agreements are expected to be finalized within hours.
