Qatar is planning to lure long-distance runner Hicham El Guerrouj of Morocco for the Doha Grand Prix 2005 to be held here in May. According to Qatar Amateur Athletic Federation (Qaaf) president, Brigadier General Dahlan Al Hamad, Doha is keen to play host to the Moroccan champion at the Grand Prix to be held in Qatar on May 13.
The Qaaf president was quoted by the local press as saying that getting somebody in the level of El Guerrouj would not be easy as famous athletes are gearing up for the World Championships to be held in Helsinki in August this year.
